The first Pirates was great but after 2 and 3 I have no interest in 4.
It will be a huge cash machine.

A Lone Ranger movie is a bit more of a gamble. It's quite old and not really known overseas so they'll have to create a new fanbase for it.

I don't understand why Depp is still making Pirates 4; that isn't like him. And everyone knows Pirates 4 will most likely be a dud– it's already lost 2 of the 3 main characters. Have they got him under contract?

they should cancel this movie. the potc movies have gotten so boring now.

The reasons I will come back for a fourth Pirates film are 3-fold:

1. Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow
2. I loved the first "TWO" films
3. Kiera Knightly and Orlando Bloom will not take part in the new film

I actually hope the writer's, Rossio and Elliot, get back to what made the first film so great. It needs a great story that makes sense, unlike POTC 3, and they need to get away from all the giant sea monster's and squid faced people. Write a great script, and forget about making the Disney marketing people happy. No gimmicks, like Keith Richards or the god awful Russell Brand. Focus on Jack Sparrow and Barbossa…

I'm all for another Pirates film as long as it more akin to Curse of the Black Pearl. They should take their time with this one. They should make sure they have a solid streamlined script and a precise concept/direction. At World's End was doomed from the start when it was rushed into production without a finished and well-thought out script. It looked like they just threw whatever idea came to mind on paper and tried to make them all fit.

Forget the First Pirates Of THe Carribean 1. It is a good movie, but without the good characters played by Johny Depp (Captain Jack Sparrow), Geoffrey Rush, Kiera Knightely and Orlando Bloom, it would've been nothing but entertaining with special effects any medium budgeted movie could've pulled off. And the plot is not even close to being original. With them it was really good though.

The 2nd one on the other hand, with it's beyond groundbreaking special effects, excellent story, action sequences, and all of the new characters, especially Davey Jones (Bill Nighy!), is excellent.
The 3rd one has Naomie Harris (Calypso) in a much bigger part. The ending sequence may be the best special effect achievement in history, not to mention another excellent story, and more Captain Jack Sparrow humor. The best.

Bring on the 4th one. I think the Kiera Knightley-Orlando Bloom plot has run it's course. Let Captain Jack Sparrow keep making us laugh, and have Geoffrey Rush be as good as usual. Get some new characters for this movie, as in other really good actors. It'll hit 500 million at least, if not 700 million.

I really think Pirates could work well with its weak links (bloom and knightly) out. Looking forward to it!

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is being written right now by ted and terry, and then will be started with filming by 2010. Theres no way now that there would be no pirates of the caribbean 4 by now because of how far they've gotten to getting pirates of the caribbean 4 made!. They announced back on september 25th, 2008, that pirates of the caribbean 4 will definately happen!. By now you all who don't want a pirates of the caribbean 4 really need to know that whether if you want pirates of the caribbean 4 to happen or not, it "WILL HAPPEN!", so "STOP COMPLAINING!". And for those of you aout there who want a pirates of the caribbean 4 like i do!, guess what?!?!, – everything is going to be fine!, because yes, pirates of the caribbean 4 is already officially going to happen! =). By the way, i just recently discovered on other multiple movie websites that, pirates of the caribbean 4 director gore verbinski is officially coming back to direct pirates of the caribbean 4, and jerry bruckhiemer will be the producer again, so now we should be o.k in knowing that pirates of the caribbean 4 wont suck! =). And no!, pirates of the caribbean: at aworld's end did NOT suck at all !, so there you have it!………………….

I too think that the second and third film drifted off to a different story, and that they should continue with the black pearl. because it was exciting, new, fresh and epic.
so bring on the fourth, and dont mess it up!

I am a huge fan of all three pirates and I agree that the first one was the best so far,but I thinkg that the last one needs to happen soon because people are going to loss intrest or forget about it. and the actors are going to get older and the roles want be as good. and if they screw it up they'd be at risk of getting murdered because I for one know that there are people out there more obsessed with Johnny than me and right now I feel like a sitting duck. lone ranger sounds goodm but he's not even the main character..so I think POTC 4 should take priority and I think they should do it with in the next two years…..And go out with a bang…don't leave room for error make it the movie of the centurie…..I LOVE JACK SPARROW!

@rattler76: Depp has said him self that he is not ready to let go of Jack sparrow he feels that his characters become a small part of him during the movies and Jack is one that goes back to childhood fantasies, and your right about the last two but if the do screw up the last one someone will most likely shot the producor or something, cause I know there are still alot of obssessed people out there…..worse than me.
