Perry and Swank Explore the 'Laws of Motion'

A Matthew Perry comedy just doesn't appeal to me

Since the death of "Friends" I don't hear a lot of people begging to see Matthew Perry in a comedic role anymore, but it appears we are going to get it and he has somehow swung a deal to star with Hilary Swank in the comedy Laws of Motion. Oh, and Ben Foster is said to be in negotiations for the lead role.

In the film Perry plays a husband struggling with life in a repressive career and community along with headaches caused by his free-spirited brother (Foster) and sister. Swank will take on a supporting role as the all-too-perfect neighbor of Perry's harried character.

The odd thing here is that the film is scheduled to go into production this month, but The Hollywood Reporter article doesn't mention anyone attached to direct it. Maybe this one is so good it directs itself. Maybe they can bring me on and I will just yell out "Action!" Now that would be fun!

GreeneStreet Films International will handle international sales rights to Motion at this month's Festival de Cannes.
