The Daniel Plainview comment was a compliment. There are times when also I feel like I can't keep doing this on my own.

But I agree with you on Allen and Gordon-Levitt. Ever since 3rd Rock he has buildt up an impressive resume with great performances. From "Brick" and "Manic" to the extremely disturbing "Mysterious Skin". Let's hope "G.I. Joe" is the end of his "almost surely crap films". But who knows. Maybe Sommers might surprise and the movie can actually be entertaining. Anyways, with a big movie(s) under his belt he'll probably be able to green lit movies based on his name and that is a good thing no matter what.

Strangely, I take the Daniel Plainview comparison as a compliment. I'm weird like that. Although, I'd say this column alternates regularly between things i love and hate. Anyways, yeah, I can kind of understand why Gordon-Levitt is doing G.I. Joe.--although I'm sure he's set for life after 3rd Rock from the Sun, so I find it hard to believe it's for money. But maybe he was a big fan of G.I. Joe when growing up. Or maybe he needs a guaranteed hit so he can get some smaller projects made. I don't know. But I just find it weird when actors such as Allen or Gordon-Levitt who've been so careful with the roles they've taken and then BOOM suddenly they're in something that had "crap" written on it from the day go.

"Will Joseph Gordon-Levitt, the finest young actor working today, appear in a Stephen Sommers' toy commercial? Oh you gotta be shitting me!?!"

Exactly my sentiments. But as long as Johnny Depp doesn't make "Edward Scissorhands 2: This Time it's Personal: Scissors of Fury" I can live with most of the paymymoney fevers around. Even Joseph Gordon-Levitt in a "cringe" Stephen Sommer's film (who I believe is the worst director in the world at the moment).

But as always, I enjoy your pure hatred for everything and keep up the good work. Not far away from Daniel Plainview.
