Our First Look at Hillcoat’s Adaptation of McCarthy’s ‘The Road’

I have this on the coffee table now...

Pic comes from Row Three

I have less than 200 pages left in the book I am currently reading and then I don’t know if I will dive into “Watchmen” for the very first time in anticipation of Comic Con or if I will quickly spin through Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road”. Decisions, decisions.

After all the love for the Coen’s adaptation of McCarthy’s “No Country for Old Men” you would think anticipation for The Road would be at an all-time high, especially considering it is being directed by The Proposition helmer John Hillcoat and stars Viggo Mortensen as The Man as he travels through an ashen post-apocalyptic landscape with his son (Kodi Smit-McPhee).

The Road hits limited theaters on November 11 and expands throughout November going wide on November 26, and I am anxious to get the book read so I know what all the fuss is about.

I have both "The Road" and "Blindness" on my bookshelf now, but I have about 5 more books to go through before I get to those ( Yes, I put them in order and I don’t skip ahead).

My suggestion is you read ‘The Road’ Brad, and then let people who havent read it (like me) know how it was and whether you think it could be adapted into a solid flick.

Adu, I wrote a column about the book/film a few months ago. You can check it out here. And yes, I’m more excited about this than both Indy or Dark Knight, here’s the link
