Oscar Update: The Contender Section is Now Online and Updating

From now until Oscar Night on February 22, 2009

It has taken a ton of work over this Labor Day Weekend, but thanks to the slow news cycle I was able to get the RopeofSilicon “The Contenders” section online and officially updating. You can begin your tour right here, but first let me give you a break down as well as you can download the poster I created for the occasion just below…

Currently there are 44 individual film pages plus a look at the Animated Features and Documentary contenders as I see it right now based on critical response and industry buzz. As you will see once you visit the page I will be updating each page as new information is revealed giving you almost daily updates on what films will be vying for Oscar gold when the 81st Academy Awards nominations are announced on Thursday, January 22, 2009.

Out of the 44 films I have already added updates for The Dark Knight, The Duchess, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Good, Happy-Go-Lucky, I’ve Loved You So Long, Slumdog Millionaire, Che and The Wrestler as well as the Animated and Documentary categories.

I will do periodic article letting you know when and what films I have updated, but all you need to do is click on over to the section every so often and everthing is right there. There will be buttons placed around the site as well as you can find “The Contenders” in the AWARDS drop-down from the navigation above. So click here

Below I have taken some of the elements of “The Contenders” section and fashioned a poster with the current list of films I am updating. You can click here for the ULTRA-sized version.
