'Transformers' go Blu and 'Desperate Housewives' come home

Desperate Housewives - The Complete Fourth Season
Ahhhh, I have not yet received my review copy but I am told it is on the way. I actually loved the first season of this show, but subsequent seasons weren’t able to live up to that first year. “Desperate Housewives” was always a soap opera, but it had a little something extra that made it entertaining. In follow-up seasons it almost became a parody of that first season and was never quite as good. While I haven’t heard much (good or bad) about this fourth season I am looking forward to giving it a shot.

Transformers (2-Disc Special Edition)
Transformers is now on Blu-ray and for some reason no one seems to care, at least not to the level they did last year when Paramoung went HD DVD exclusive and Transformers wasn’t released in the PS3 friendly format much to the chagrin of director Michael Bay and several fanboys. Everyone was up in arms and there were articles flying every which way, so much to the point that Bay even tried to suggest he wouldn’t make a second film. Yeah, how did that turn out Michael? Nevertheless, here is the Blu-ray edition so I guess all is well. It doesn’t offer anything that the HD DVD didn’t outside of a slightly improved audio track. I reviewed the disc right here, so check that out if you need any more insight.

Then She Found Me
Helen Hunt’s directorial debut is sitting over on my counter in Blu-ray format, but I have yet to get a chance to watch it even though I am looking forward to checking it out. The “Mad About You” actress turned director didn’t exactly hit a home run her first time out as Then She Found Me earned a 55% rating at RottenTomatoes, but with Hunt, Colin Firth, Matthew Broderick and Bette Midler it sounds like it is worth a watch even if Broderick annoys the hell out of me.

Married Life
I think I may have to throw this one in the NetFlix queue. I have no desire to review it which is why I didn’t request it and I don’t really want to see the natural brunette beauty that is Rachel McAdams sporting that god awful platinum blonde she once showcased in the mess that was The Notebook. I just saw Rachel in The Lucky Ones and was reminded of how stunning she is and I don’t need that perception hindered by this film. So maybe one day in the future, but for now I am fine missing this one.
