A solid must buy and new details to check out including 'Batman Begins' info

One must buy this week, but it is one you will not want to miss. The Orphanage is a horror film even people who don't like horror can get behind. They may have to hide their face once or twice, but overall it's an emotional powerhouse. Also, if you didn't hear, Universal has announced their plan to go Blu-ray. You can read about it here and a few of their titles are already included on the site and featured at the end of this article.

Oh, and finally, for you Batman fans. The Blu-ray Giftset version of Batman Begins (details here) will include the six minutes of The Dark Knight that showed prior to screenings of I Am Legend last fall while the DVD Giftset version will NOT.

MUST BUY
The Orphanage is above and beyond what traditional horror brings you. This flick adds drama to suspsense and keeps you on edge the entire time. Feature debute director Juan Antonio Bayona shows some real talent and the backing of Guillermo del Toro proves that when Guillermo puts his name on something it's actually worth something. I have watched the special features only on the Blu-ray edition I was recently sent to review and hope to watch the film very soon and bring you a full review, but I can tell you the features are extremely interesting, even if you are going to have to rewind them on occasion in order to read everything they have to say. Oh, yeah, I should mention the film is in Spanish and you will be required to read. Don't worry though, the film itself is so involving you won't even care. Give this one a chance, blind buy it if you have to, you won't regret it. I even included it in my top ten of 2007. BUY IT AT AMAZON

THE REST
Nope, Cloverfield is not a must buy. This will only ever be a must buy should they actually make a whole franchise worth of films like this that also match the fun this one was. A box set of US monster movies for a new age would be quite cool, but as it is Cloverfield is a simple rental. The film doesn't pack the same punch on the small screen as it did on the big and if you have seen it once all the suspense is lost. My full review is here if you care for more opinion. You know, Charlie Wilson's War is not a bad film, it's just that it isn't a great film or a film you would want to watch more than once or twice. The performance given by Philip Seymour Hoffman is fantastic and the story is mildly intriguing, but there just isn't enough there to call it anything more than a passing interest. My full review is right here, but I wouldn't even waste your time reading that. Give this one a rent and be done with it. BUY IT AT AMAZON
Oh baby, I watched this Blu-ray a couple of nights ago and can tell you right now to avoid this one as if it violated you something fierce. A ghost is in the phone can you get it before it gets you? BUY IT AT AMAZON
I watched this movie a long time ago and never managed to give it a review, primarily because it sucks. I don't know how it ever started getting any kind of award buzz. Skip it. BUY IT AT AMAZON
People seem to like this one. Sara reviewed the DVD here and seemed to enjoy it. I thought it looked like something that would make me want to slit my wrists. So, I skipped it and never plan on watching it. Different strokes. BUY IT AT AMAZON
