On It's Way to $100+ Million Talk of More 'Fast and Furious' Rises
Diesel and Walker said to be coming back...
SlashFilm brings us a link from the radio show Valentine in the Morning in which Fast and Furious star Paul Walker let slip some news on where exactly the franchise may be heading as a Fast and Furious 5 seems inevitable. Considering the $100+ million the film has made in less than two weeks I don't think any of us are surprised by this turn of events as apparently our heroes will be heading to Brazil. Walker was quoted saying:
This was supposed to be it. There wasn't supposed to be the open-ended closing like there was. When I first read the screenplay, I was like, 'Man, look what they're doing.' But without question, with the way things opened up, Vin and I will be coming back, we're making a fifth one, and we're going to Brazil, that's it.
Personally I enjoyed damn near every minute of Fast and Furious despite how stupid the story was. I got what I expected and what I expected fit my mood. Perhaps the next time I see it I won't be as impressed, but as a one shot it did the trick and I am certainly up for another one.
On top of the quote above E! News has confirmed with Universal that a fifth film is in the works.
