On It's Way to $100+ Million Talk of More 'Fast and Furious' Rises

Diesel and Walker said to be coming back...

SlashFilm brings us a link from the radio show Valentine in the Morning in which Fast and Furious star Paul Walker let slip some news on where exactly the franchise may be heading as a Fast and Furious 5 seems inevitable. Considering the $100+ million the film has made in less than two weeks I don't think any of us are surprised by this turn of events as apparently our heroes will be heading to Brazil. Walker was quoted saying:

This was supposed to be it. There wasn't supposed to be the open-ended closing like there was. When I first read the screenplay, I was like, 'Man, look what they're doing.' But without question, with the way things opened up, Vin and I will be coming back, we're making a fifth one, and we're going to Brazil, that's it.

Personally I enjoyed damn near every minute of Fast and Furious despite how stupid the story was. I got what I expected and what I expected fit my mood. Perhaps the next time I see it I won't be as impressed, but as a one shot it did the trick and I am certainly up for another one.

On top of the quote above E! News has confirmed with Universal that a fifth film is in the works.

You can listen to the Walker interview with Valentine in the Morning right here, but it is in an embedded Windows Media Player so be sure you have the right browser plug-ins.

Now, we gotta think of names.

"5 Fast 5 Furious" is the favorite, but I think that they should just shaft the people who have no clue about the series and call it "Fast and Furious 2", the sequel to "Fast and Furious", not the direct sequel to "The Fast and the Furious" nor is it a remake of "2 Fast 2 Furious".

Fuck the naming of this series, honestly. I love all of the films, but it's so damn confusing.

i really enjoyed the new film and i am glad they are getting back together for a 5th. hopefully, this "sequel" is better than the first fast and furious 2. if they are even considering this the new fast and furious 2…again!
