UPDATED: Oh No! Oh No! For the Love of God NO!

Lionsgate cornered the market on the idiots

UPDATE: This article originally blamed 20th Century Fox for distributing this movie. That information was wrong and has now been updated to blame the correct studio… Lionsgate.

Are Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer as stupid as their movies? Does Lionsgate have a list of morons that they know will attend Friedberg and Seltzer’s films? Does Carmen Electra punch herself in the face because she hates herself so much?

I have to believe the answer is “Yes” to all three of those questions as ComingSoon.net has silently added Disaster Movie to their database with a release date of August 29, 2008. Lionsgate is distributing and Carmen Electra is toplining with Kimberly Kardashian, Matt Lanter, Vanessa Minnillo, Crista Flanagan, Nicole Parker and Ike Barinholtz also listed in the cast.

Coming
Soon wasn’t bold enough to add a plot summary, but let me give it a stab:

From the idiots that brought you Date Movie, Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans comes a film Lionsgate realizes enough idiots will support in theaters and on unrated DVD to release. Get ready as Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer “spoof” all your favorite disaster films and Carmen Electra leaves on just enough clothes for us to make the theatrical release PG-13.

If you are willing to pay money to watch this movie I kindly ask that you no longer visit RopeofSilicon.com. We don’t have high standards, but spending money on something that actually makes you dumber is something we will not tolerate.

Rope of Silicon just took an important step towards cultural elitism. I’m in!

Nah, not elitism.
The line being drawn here is just between mankind and the ones that got left behind evolutionary wise. The ones that said "screw it, this fire thing is too complicated".
Or if you’re not into Darwin then the ones of which God has said "Allright it’s getting late and tomorrow’s sunday, I’ll finnish these next week" but he never did.

But besides a difference in interpretation domenic, you’re right, I’m in as well. :)
