Nine New Voices Move into Who-ville

Damn, that's a lot of names

It can’t be cheap to assemble a cast of 11 recognizeable actors for an animated comedy, but Fox must figure they have something big on their hands as nine new names have been added to the voice cast of Horton Hears a Who based on the popular Dr. Suess story.

Joining Jim Carrey and Steve Carell are Carol Burnett, Seth Rogen, Will Arnett, Isla Fisher, Dan Fogler, Amy Poehler, Dane Cook, Jaime Pressly and Jonah Hill. Of course some of these names cost more than others and Carrey and Carell are the big draw, but damn. Burnett will voice the role of the always skeptical Kangaroo. As previously announced, Carrey will voice the title character, while Carell will voice the role of the Mayor of Who-ville.

First published in 1954 by Ted Geisel, Horton Hears a Who is the story of an imaginative elephant who hears a cry for help coming from a tiny speck of dust floating through the air. Suspecting there may be life on that speck and despite a surrounding community which thinks he has lost his mind, Horton is determined to help.

Ice Age creators Blue Sky Studios are behind the pic and a March 14, 2008 release is already planned.
