Nine Minutes of John Woo's 'Red Cliff'

Finally a new flick from big John

It has been five years since John Woo directed a major motion picture and considering the last one was Paycheck I hardly think it counts. However, hopefully releasing some time this year is his new flick Red Cliff starring Tony Leung based on historical events that took place in China 1,700 years ago and on a chapter in the popular novel "Romance of the Three Kingdoms." Some 600 years after its publication, the book is still widely read in China.

Woo brought nine minutes of the film to the Cannes Film Festival and Trailer Addict got their hands on the preview. Check it out below. It appears the film will be hitting Asian markets on July 10.
