Next Bond Theme Belongs to Alicia Keys and Jack White

Poor Amy Winehouse... those drugs'll do it to you every time

Alicia Keys

Amy Winehouse was originally expected to record the theme song for the next James Bond flick Quantum of Solace but as her producer Mark Ronson was quoted back in early May, “I don’t think so unless by some miracle of science it gets recorded and someone sings a vocal on it so probably not. We did work on it but we never finished it so that’s about it.”

Winehouse’s personal problems have been well documented and it came as no surprise she wasn’t able to (or wasn’t wanted to) record the song. As it turns out that is good news for Alicia Keys and Jack White of the White Stripes as Sony Pictures and MGM reported today they will team up to create the new 007 theme song.

The song has already been recorded and will be called “Another Way To Die” and will be released on October 28th by J Records, just over a week before Quantum of Solace hits theaters on November 7.

Wow, I’ve been hoping for this news for a while. After Winehouse was ousted from the job, the names that have been thrown around have all been sub par to say the least. A TV pop show sensation such as Leonna Lewis has no business belting out the theme to a James Bond movie. Neither do Duffy, Grace Jones or any of the other names tossed around. However, Alicia Keys, now there’s someone who is going to do great things. And it’s a duet? I can just picture it now!

I was quite surprised at Chris Cornell’s song for Casino Royal.
Personally not my favorite song but it did sound like a Bond song which is so important.
Unlike demona’s….eh sorry… madonna’s song for Die another Day. It just didn’t sound like a bond song.

It would have been interesting to see what Amy Winehouse would have done with it. The Jack White one isn’t too bad - http://cokezerobond.com

I dont really like the collab between Alicia and Jack because it doesn’t really showcase their talents…the one above with just Jack White is pretty good though…
