UPDATE: New Pics and Title for Clint Eastwood’s ‘Changeling’

Yup, it will now be called...

Angelina Jolie in Clint Eastwood’s The Exchange

UPDATE: It appears the film may still keep the awful title Changeling here in the U.S. according to Anne Thompson despite the Cannes press notes calling the film ‘L’Echange’ f.k.a ‘Changeling’.

Clint Eastwood’s previously titled film Changeling, which is now being called The Exchange (although expect reviews out of the festival to still call it Changeling) screened at Cannes today and it appears to be getting a warm reception.

Variety says that it “impressively continues Clint Eastwood’s great run of ambitious late-career pictures” and “Universal release looks poised to do some serious business upon tentatively scheduled opening late in the year.”

Screen Daily’s, Fionnuala Halligan was quoted saying, “It didn’t feel like a Palme D’Or film to me, its more an Academy Award-type of film.” I think Clint will take that.

To go along with the title change and the early opinion on the film we also have two new images, which you can check out by clicking here or on the pic above.

The Exchange is set to hit theaters on November 7. The 1920s period drama, which is based on a true story, stars Angelina Jolie as a woman whose son goes missing in 1920s Los Angeles. The police return the wrong child and the woman is thrown into an insane asylum for disagreeing with the LAPD. When it seems that her real son has been murdered by a child serial killer and the child returned admits to fraud, she takes her case to the city council and takes down the mayor, the police chief and several corrupt officers, concurrently sparking changes in the insanity legislation.
