New Trailer for the 'Friday the 13th' Remake

Slash 'em up Jason! Go, go!

Okay, only question I have about this trailer is whether or not the body count is actually 13, which is what I assume by the constant numbers flashing on screen, or if that is just a nice little gimmicky way of getting to the point that this is a Friday the 13th film. I don't think it really matters since I would assume everyone, except perhaps some hot chick, is going to die. I guess one of the only things that bugs me about this film is that the first franchise never hit the 13 number, as in 13 films. For some reason I think it would be pretty cool to have one horror franchise with a collection of that many good films. The Saw franchise gave up on making intense and scary films and decided gore was best, maybe this will be the start of something interesting. We'll see.

Check out the trailer below or in high definition at Yahoo. Friday the 13th hits theaters on February 13.

Is it me, or does the trailer give away the body count? maybe Im wrong and I hope that I am, but come on they had me with the teaser. With remakes like these they shouldn't show to much, just a little taste not too much. Huge fan of the origianal series and I dont want to be disapointed, It looks really good but I saw way too much. On a different note, what ever happened to originallity? We need a HORROR revival in hollywood, I like to call this decade in hollywood horror, A Horror remake, cause thats all they do.
Sorry about the rant

I agree with not showing too much on a remake. I am a hudge fan on the Friday the 13th's. I also dont see a resemblance in the original. When doing a remake i would think you get as close as you can to the plot of the story. Same names same past time, ect. I just hope I'm not disapointed with this because I am highly anticipating it. I dont believe it will be "CRAPPY" due to the fact that Michael Bay is producing it and also the producers of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre". Not to mention that was a great remake too. Actually better than the orginal. I'm definatly team JASON!! can't wait!!!

Having seen this trailer it looks like a great horror movie in itself, and Marcus Nispel is a great director so it may be good for what it is. But I have a feeling that this movie is just not going to have the same feel as all the others did. Maybe it was just that all the originals had that 1980s vibe to it that obviously can't be duplicated. I don't know about anyone else but I just didn't get excited as all hell when I saw that trailer. It just seems like its going to be something that is way to serious for what kind of subject matter the Friday the 13th universe is. I have a feeling the series may have truly ended with Freddy vs Jason which is a movie that managed to retain that over the top and comic book charm that the others flicks had. I will just have to see the movie when it comes out. It may be an absolute thrill ride, that is way better than the trailer. If nothing else it looks to be at least a decent next-gen horror movie.
