Paramount has opened the door to its fall preview after moving Martin Scorsese's Shutter Island to February 2010 leaving us with Jason Reitman's Up In the Air and Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones, both of which look to be potential Oscar candidates with Up In the Air already earning considerable buzz and The Lovely Bones recently debuting an impressive trailer (watch to the right).

Today Paramount sends over two new images from both films, both of which are previewed here in this post and you can get larger looks at these images as well as the rest of the images in using the following links for each film. The links will open in a new window so you can close it and easily return to this post for the link to the other gallery.

The Lovely Bones hits theaters on December 11, 2009 while Up In the Air does not yet have a release date, but is likely to hit theaters in December as well.

Also releasing from Paramount Vantage this fall is Carriers on September 4. For more on that film, which stars Chris Pine (Star Trek) click here.

Won't those fanbois be shocked when they go to see Peter Jackson's new movie and find out it doesn't have Hobbits or Orcs in it. The joke will be on them!
