Sony Pictures Classics has officially announced Terry Gilliam's The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus for a December 25 release date and on top of that have released a batch of brand new stills as well as the following three clips as the film is prepping for its Friday September 18 screening at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film stars Heath Ledger in his final feature film role along with Christopher Plummer, Johnny Depp, Jude Law, Colin Farrell, Andrew Garfield, Verne Troyer, Lily Cole and Tom Waits. The story follows Dr. Parnassus (Plummer) and his extraordinary gift of guiding the imaginations of others. With his traveling theatre troupe, Parnassus offers audience members the chance to transcend mundane reality by passing through a magical mirror into a fantastic universe of limitless imagination. However, Parnassus' magic comes at a price. For centuries he's been gambling with the devil, Mr. Nick (Waits) who is coming to collect his prize – Parnassus' precious daughter, Valentina (Cole) on her upcoming 16th birthday. Oblivious to her rapidly approaching fate, Valentina falls for Tony (Ledger), a charming outsider with motives of his own. In order to save his daughter and redeem himself, Parnassus makes one final bet with Mr. Nick which sends Tony, Valentina and the entire theatre troupe on a ride of twists and turns, in and out of London and the Imaginarium's spectacular landscape.

I can't wait for this movie. Heath was such a talent. I am glad we have a chance to see his last performance. I have been a Johnny Depp fan for many years. I am glad he stepped into help finish the movie.
