Murray and Schwartzman Tapped for Anderson's 'Fox'

Some Fantastic casting is announced...

Jason Schwartzman

I am not a fan of Wes Anderson, it is not that I think he is a bad filmmaker, because I think he is actually a very good filmmaker, I just don't like the films he makes. Before you go judging me, because I know he has loyal fans out there, I have seen Rushmore, The Royal Tenenbaums and even Life Aquatic. I didn't hate any of them, it is just that I didn't really like any of them. I did just download Hotel Chevalier, but I haven't watched it yet, if it is appealing I may try and check out The Darjeeling Limited, but I sincerely doubt I will.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand. Anderson's follow-up to Darjeeling is going to be a feature film adaptation of Roald Dahl's The Fantastic Mr. Fox with George Clooney playing Mr. Fox and as we have now learned from MTV Anderson has tapped Bill Murray and Jason Schwartzman to join in on the fun.

The pic is going to be animated, which should play very well into Anderson's strengths, and actually makes the film far more appealing to me. Anderson tells MTV, "It will take a couple years to do the animating… It’s stop-motion. It’s like Nightmare Before Christmas or those Christmas specials. These [characters] have fur, so it’s not like claymation."

Honestly, this sounds very cool to me and I can't wait to see how the story of a crafty fox who finds himself and his family targeted for death by the three dumb, pug-ugly farmers who tire of sharing their chickens with the critter.

Cate Blanchett is expected to voice Mr. Fox's wife. The film is set to be released on November 6, 2009 by 20th Century Fox.

It's like it's a 10 year reunion for Rushmore! This new makes me very happy.
