I just saw it on cable recently and was completed baffled myself by the casting, singing, choreography and overall amateur attempt at film-making. I'm pretty sure any high school performance of this show would have been better or least, could not have been worse. It was just pitiful. Madonna would have been a much better choice in Streep's role. Streep looked like she just rolled out of bed in every scene and I got the impression the cast did their own make-up, hair and wardrobe. This movie was like baking a lousy cake. Why bother? Thank you for an honest review of this film.
