More Mickey as Rourke Finds 'Passion'

This brings the total number of upcoming films to eight for Mickey Rourke

On the heels of the report Mickey Rourke has officially joined the cast of Iron Man 2 the Hollywood Reporter weighs in with some additional Rourke casting news announcing he is attached to star in Passion Plays, an indie drama for writer/director Mitch Glazer.

Unfortunately there is no word on what Passion Plays is about and the fact Glazer's past work involves the Al Pacino/ Colin Farrell thriller The Recruit and the Bill Murray holiday comedy Scrooged doesn't help any.

For Rourke this is one of several new films he has attached himself to over the past few months. On top of Iron Man 2 Rourke will star in 13 (a remake of the French-language film 13 Tzameti), The Expendables (an ensemble actioner for Sylvester Stallone), St. Vincent (an action/thriller for director Walter Hill), 11 Minutes (an adaptation of the steamy Paulo Coehlo novel) and the Indian gangster movie Broken Horses. On top of that he has The Informers hitting New York theaters on April 24.

Busy guy.

Damn it, now we are never going to get a Sin City 2. Rosario Dawson said it is supposed to happen in 2009, but Rourke seems like he is booked for the next couple of years and RR has Nerverackers going on so who knows when it will happen, if ever.

@adu: The main story in Sin City 2 would've taken place before the his events in the first film. It's also a prequel to Dwight's character as well.

I am so glad he is back doing movies again…I have been a fan of Rourke's since the 80's, I hope every movie he makes is a box office hit! I think alot of people who didn't know much about Rourke, are curious enough about him to go see his movies..He is truly one of the best actors around right now !! he shoulda won the Best Actor at the Oscars this year, he was incredible in The Wrestler and deserved that award…Oh well i think he will get anohter nom in the future…jmo
