Mikkelsen and Davalos are the Latest to Join 'Clash of the Titans'

I truly am excited for this flick

Mads Mikkelsen

The Clash of the Titans remake has snagged another recent Bond veteran, following word Quantum of Solace co-star Gemma Arterton had joined the cast earlier this week, we now learn Casino Royale baddie Mads Mikkelsen has also joined the cast along with Alexa Davalos whom some may remember as Kyra from The Chronicles of Riddick.

Sam Worthington is toplining the Greek-god epic for director Louis Letterier (The Incredible Hulk) which follows Perseus and his quest to battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the Princess Andromeda. Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay wrote the script.

Mikkelsen is playing Draco, a skilled fighter and leader of the Praetorian Guard that accompanies Perseus. Davalos is Andromeda, the captured princess, and Arterton is Io, who is instrumental in bringing the winged horse Pegasus to Perseus and Arterton was quoted saying Io and Perseus "fall in love" in the film.

Warner Bros. has already set a March 26, 2010 release date and if you haven't seen the 1981 original I definitely recommend you give it a watch, it was one of my favorites growing up and it is available on Netflix Instant Play.

Io and Perseus? Woah wait ::reads the article again:: yet another epic to get the Mythology wrong. I know no one will probably read this but anyways…Perseus falls in love with Andromeda after saving her from being killed by the sea monster Cetus. Io was never involved with the slaying of Medusa or the saving of Andromeda and Pegasus springs out from the body of Medusa…and Draco? Draco was a dragon like monster not a skilled fighter who travels with Perseus >.< Yes I did watch the original, I may be only almost 20 but I have seen the original over 100 times as a kid and I've read up on Greek Mythology since I was probably 6.

@Heather: I am not sure I would look at it as them getting the mythology wrong as much as I would look at it as them adapting the mythology to fit their needs. I don't have a problem with it and think it is a good example of what should have been done to make Watchmen a better film… just as an example.

@Brad Brevet: Ok since you put it that way, I see your point. I guess its just weird to me that they would take a story and change it but then again it is Hollywood…and it IS a remake. I guess I should have thought of that first before ranting >.< haha
