Meet Davy Jones’ New Crew from ‘Pirates 3′

Visual Effects Art Director, Aaron McBride will introduce...

Accompanying the ILM set visit I just published (check it out here) I am also happy to bring you a very cool feature I put together thanks to ILM, Disney and the handywork of one ILM Visual Effects Art Director - Aaron McBride.

While touring the facility at ILM one of our stops was the desk of Aaron McBride who was personally involved in creating and designing several of the new characters you see inhabiting Davy Jones’ Flying Dutchman in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End. While there he showed us some of the early sketches as well as concept art for the new Flying Dutchman crew and now we have the art and the words from the man himself.

To check out the feature article click here or on the pic above.

Trust me, this one is quick and a lot of fun. Not to mention you get an up close look at the character that Aaron referenced developing chicken embryos, eight-ball hemorrhages and autopsies to create. It is good fun!
