McKellen to Voice 'Stardust'

The narrator is cast as if it really mattered

Ian McKellen is set to join the cast of Matthew Vaughn's Stardust as… drum-roll please… THE NARRATOR!!! Yeah, talk about news you can use. I am sure plenty of your friends and family members will be excited to hear this news.

I kid of course, but the news is slow and it is something to report. McKellen joins the cast which includes Claire Danes, Robert De Niro, Michelle Pfeiffer and Charlie Cox. The production wrapped production in the fall and McKellen will voice his part in post production before the film's July 27 release date.

The film is based on Neil Gaiman's novel, which centers on a young man who promises his beloved that he will retrieve a fallen star by venturing into the Faerie realm, where he encounters witches, goblins, gnomes, talking animals and evil trees. Gaiman's fairy tale debuted in 1997 as a four-issue DC Comics miniseries with illustrations by Charles Vess. It was published as a single book the following year.

Now if we can just get Ian to play the character of Prof. Dumbledor, instead of the god awful Michael Gambon, then the world would be peacful again.
