McConaughey Takes Owen Wilson's 'Thunder'
Got a role? Matt will fill it
After Owen Wilson's recent meltdown there was a small whole left in Ben Stiller's comedy Tropic Thunder, but it appears Matthew McConaughey will fill in for Wilson while he recovers, and hopefully doesn't suffer anything similar again. The role is a minimal one and ultimately ends up being an uncredited cameo.
The pic stars Stiller, Jack Black, Robert Downey Jr., Nick Nolte, Bill Hader and Steve Coogan in a film about a group of actors who gather on a remote island to shoot a big-budget war movie and are forced to become the soldiers they are playing.
The pic is currently filming in Hawaii for a July 11, 2008 release through DreamWorks Pictures.
