The Hollywood Reporter has a pair of articles revealing that DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg is keen to bring a sequel to this summer’s Kung Fu Panda to theaters and expects to have the story details nailed down in the next 30 or 60 days should it go forward.

Katzenberg also said a sequel to the November 7th release of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa is probably going to happen as well saying, “There is at least one more chapter. We ultimately want to see the characters make it back to New York.”

Animated fans can get excited because all DreamWorks Animation features will be made in 3-D following the completion of Madagascar 2, which means both the sequel to Kung Fu Panda and Madagascar 2 will be coming right atcha!
