Christensen joins 'Jumper'

Hayden Christensen> is set to join Samuel L. Jackson, Jamie Bell and Teresa Palmer in Jumper as he is replacing the role once occupied by Tom Sturridge, a decision made as it was felt they should “go with a more prominent actor” reports The Hollywood Reporter. Christensen and Jackson last starred together in Star Wars: Episodes II and III.

Regency has partnered with 20th Century Fox have partnered to fund the $100 million pic, which centers on a teenager who discovers he can teleport from one place to another. The 17-year-old first learns that he can jump when he escapes his abusive father.

Hopes are for the film to turn into a trilogy and shooting on what is expected to be the first installment is set to begin at month’s end in Toronto, Rome and Tokyo.

Doug Liman is directing.
