Los Angeles Film Crix are Out for ‘Blood’
This is going to be one hell of an interesting award season

So the Boston Critics agreed with the National Board of Review and went with No Country for Old Men as their top film, but the Los Angeles Film Critics don’t even mention the Coen brothers’ film once as they give There Will be Blood not only Best Picture, but best director (Paul Thomas Anderson), best actor (Daniel Day-Lewis) and best production design (Jack Fisk). Blood was also mentioned as a runner up for Jonny Greenwood’s music.
The runner-up for most top spots is Romania’s 4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days taking in supporting actor (Vlad Ivanov) and best foreign film, besting The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, which doesn’t exactly make a ton of sense since Diving Bell was runner-up for best picture, but still can’t manage to take home best foreign language film. If you can explain that please do.
Amy Ryan is again noted for her performance in Gone Baby Gone as best supporting actress, leading me to believe she has the Oscar all wrapped up and it also looks like Marion Cotillard will be the one to expect to take home the best actress Oscar for her performance in La Vie En Rose.
The other noteworthy mention would be Frank Langella’s runner-up mention for best actor. Langella was awarded the best actor nod from the Boston crix and the mention by the LA crix is sure to boost his potential for an Oscar nomination.
