A Look at the 'Watchmen' Minutemen

A double dose of goodness

Silhouette, Mothman, Dollar Bill, Nite Owl, Captain Metropolis, Silk Spectre, Hooded Justice and The Comedian (kneeling)

Just yesterday we got word of some great news concerning the "Tales of the Black Freighter," the story-within-the-story from Alan Moore's "Watchmen," and before that news is even luke warm Ain't It Cool News brings us a new pic from the flick (well, sort of).

The pic above is a teaser of the AICN image and it is a look at the folks that made up the Minutemen, the first team of superheroes in the world of "Watchmen." These are the folks that set the stage for the story to come and I actually think Zack Snyder went even more nostalgic than the actual comic. I mean, those costumes are looking hella authentic.

I have listed the names of the heroes in the pic and the only one that really seems like a stretch is Hooded Justice who is suspected to be a weightlifter because of his size, but he looks like he is only lifting buckets of chicken. Looking at the pic to the right even Nite Owl looks tiny. The picture is used to spawn flashback scenes in the story, and the folks in the picture will play a part in the story, especially one scene involving The Comedian and Silk Spectre.

For a full-size look at the pic click here and if you missed yesterday's "Black Freighter" DVD news click here.

Watchmen hits theaters on March 6, 2009.
