Who is scoring what new film? Look here...

I have no idea how I ended up coming across this website on Friday, but I must say I'm happy I did as Upcoming Film Scores is about as simple as they come when looking for who will be scoring what upcoming feature films.

Want to know who is directing Werner Herzog's The Bad Lieutenant? Mark Isham (Lions for Lambs, The Mist, Running Scared)

How about X-Men Origins: Wolverine? Harry Gregson-Williams (Spy Game, Narnia films, Gone Baby Gone)

Or what's Steve Jablonsky up to? Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Friday the 13th.

Alexandre Desplat will follow up his Curious Case of Benjamin Button score with Meryl Streep's Julie and Julia and Terrence Malick's Tree of Life while Jan A.P. Kaczmarek will follow up his The Visitor score with The Horsemen and Hachiko – A Dog's Story.

The site is simple, offers very little additional information outside of the composer and the movie. The only thing I wish they did was include tags so you could see a quick search result for each composer, but adding it to the RSS feed reader should be enough. Add this to Soundtrack.net's ability to list the names of songs in trailers and I am set. Hope this is something some of you will enjoy as well.

@joker47: Yeah, I am not exactly a Danny Elfman fan… His scores sound like a carnival… that is outside of the score for The Kingdom, which doesn't even resemble a traditional Elfman score. Perhaps a lot of it has to do with his work with Tim Burton, but I am just not a huge fan.

I was surprised about the Elfman Terminator news. I'm glad. It's another reason for me to want to see the film.

If there was one Elfman score i truly enjoyed, it was that of 'Sleepy Hollow'

Anyhow, did anyone hear about Peter Jackson changing the score of King Kong a few days prior to release? i actually liked the score that was there in the movie.

For what it's worth I've really liked Danny Elfman's scores ever since Beetlejuice and I think one of the all time best scores – and one that is more ripped off in adverts etc than any other score – is the one he composed for Edward Scissorhands. This year I think his score for Erroll Morris's Standard Operating Procedure was really good.
