Liam Neeson and Bradley Cooper Negotiate 'The A-Team'
The van is filling up for the '80s adaptation

A pair of casting notes regarding Joe Carnahan's The A-Team for 20th Century Fox have come to light in the past hour. We begin with The Hollywood Reporter regurgitating news we learned back in mid-May via IESB.net, that Bradley Cooper of recent The Hangover fame is in negotiations to star as Lt. Templeton "Faceman" Peck a.k.a Face in the adaptation of the '80s television, but the real news comes from Variety.
Variety reports none other than Liam Neeson is in negotiations to star as Col. John "Hannibal" Smith, the role originated by George Peppard, and the leader of the group of framed, on-the-run war vets who get into adventures while evading the military.
Early rumors had Tyrese Gibson stepping into Mr. T's old shoes and playing the role of B.A. Baracus, but nothing has been heard on that front since, but I am sure press junket interviews for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen will soon shed some light on the situation. The other lead role to be cast is that of Howling Mad Murdock, a role I wouldn't be surprised if they call on Jim Carrey to fill.
The A-Team script was penned by Skip Woods (G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra and X-Men Origins: Wolverine) and production is slated to begin in late August for a June 11, 2010, release.
