Let's Have a V.I.P. 'Paranormal Activity' Party in Seattle!

Hmmmmm, I wonder if we can pull this off...

I don't think I have ever posted a Seattle-specific event in the six years I've been running this site, but Paramount Pictures has set up a ten city event surrounding their break-out hit Paranormal Activity and it all depends on ticket sales.

This Thursday night (October 22, 2009), at 10 theaters only, Paramount will host exclusive Paranormal Activity parties in the first 10 theaters to sell out the 12:01 AM showtime on October 22, 2009. The parties, I've heard, will be pulling out all the stops with swag bags in Hollywood premiere event fashion.

Over the weekend I told Paramount I would love to promote the event but there weren't any midnight showings scheduled for that Thursday. Well, that's changed. There is now a midnight showing this Thursday at the Neptune Theater on 45th and tickets just went on sale.

Considering I have never done more than say I live in Seattle I'm not sure how much this will help, but if you live in Seattle and are up for a good scare and a night of free goodies then BUY YOUR TICKETS NOW! And remember to select the midnight screening on Thursday, October 22.

Lets make this happen!! Come on Seattle, I want to see The Neptune sell out and us have our very own Paranormal Activity party. I want us to be on that list of 10 theaters. Who is with me here? I sure as hell will be there for the 12:01am showing, and I have to work at 6am on Friday, but its worth it. LET'S MAKE IT HAPPEN! Represent Seattle!!

Sounds like fun … except for how unsatisfying the movie itself is.

Another movie that is coming out that offers a clean alternative is ‘’Paranormal.’’ Below is some additional information about this new thriller!!

Paranormal, the latest supernatural thriller from Cross Shadow Productions, (the
creators of the Dove.org approved, best-selling BMG releases: Pray and Pray 2:
The Woods) will be available in stores nationwide January 26th 2010. The 2009 Mrs. America is starring in it.

See more information and trailers at:
http://www.ParanormalTheMovie.com

Following the success of family-friendly suspense/thriller The Exorcism of Emily
Rose (Sony Pictures), comes a riveting supernatural thriller in the vein of the hit
SyFy television series, Ghost Hunters and Frank Peretti's House (Roadside
Attractions / Lionsgate).

Paranormal follows best-selling, self-made novelist Greg Evans struggling through the worst case of writer's block in his award-winning career. In a desperate search for
inspiration, Greg quickly finds himself immersed in a world he is not prepared to face.
Turning to a group of paranormal investigators, Greg and the ghost hunting team search for proof and answers, yet are unaware they are about to have an experience of a
lifetime! None will leave the way they came. Paranormal will peel back the supernatural curtain to reveal how The TRUTH will EXPOSE the darkness!

I viewed the original version of Paranormal Activity today and I must say I found the theatrical version was much better. There was alot in the original version that was cut out and justifiably so….except the video Mikah found showing what happened to Diane. They should have defiantly included that in the new version. The original ending completely drained all the intensity that the new version left the viewer as they walked out of the theater. The original was still a good movie but the new theatrical cut was great. My skin hasn't crawled like that since the Blair Witch Project. That home video concept gives it so much more realism than your everyday typical horror film.

Any clue on if seattle has a chance in this at all? Is it possible to call the Neptune and see how many tickets they have left? If we sell out today will it be to late?

@scott:

Hard to say…I know if it doesn't sell out I plan to get my tickets refunded (I've already seen it!) but I am still holding out hope. Let us know if you find anything out…I will be at a funeral this afternoon and not able to check with the theater until later this evening..
