Leguizamo and Tyrese are on ‘The Take’

Low budget indie gets nice sized cast

“>The Take may be low-budget, but the cast sounds good to me as John Leguizamo, Tyrese Gibson, Rosie Perez, Bobby Cannavale, RZA and Meagan Good will all star in the Los Angeles-set indie for debut director Brad Furman.

The pic was penned by Josh and Jonas Pate and revolves around an armored-truck driver (Leguizamo) who is shot during a heist in East Los Angeles and chronicles the lengths he goes to after rehabilitation to track down the criminal (Gibson) who shattered his life.

Gibson and Good recently teamed in the disappointing flick Waist Deep. Leguizamo will next be seen in The Groomsmen being released by Bauer Martinez Studios this month.

Shooting on The Take will begin in September and will shoot without sets in predominantly Latino neighborhoods around L.A.
