Laurie Joins the ‘Night Watch’

New title, another actor...

This is a bit odd, Fox Searchlight is about to have two movies by the same name within three years as the previously titled The Night Watchman has been shortened to Night Watch as well as gained a new actor in the form of Hugh Laurie, a.k.a. that bloke from “House”.

Laurie joins previously cast Keanu Reeves, Forest Whitaker
, Terry Crews and Chris Evans in the film being directed by David Ayer.

The story centers on a veteran LAPD cop (Reeves) who turns to alcohol after the death of his wife. The cop is forced to go up against his longtime mentor (Whitaker) when he is implicated in the execution of a fellow officer. Laurie and Evans would play internal affairs officers.

Filming is set to begin in L.A. this month.

Oh, and the other Night Watch film is the Russian blockbuster that tanked in 2006 and will be seeing a sequel released this summer called Day Watch.
