It's not unheard of for big films like Avatar to not be rated till weaks before release. I have a friend at the BBFC who didn't rate Transformers 2 till about a week before its release.

I was definitely expecting an R rating for Takers. Im a little less excited now about it, and I was barely excited in the first place

-BR Number One: Takers Was made as a PG-13 Film and was going to comeout as a PG-13 Film
Number Two: Takers Comes From the Same Studio (Sony Screen Gems) That has another Heist theme movie Armored which is also Rated PG-13 and hits theaters next month on Dec 4th
And Number Three there are Four R Rated films coming Out in January And a few in February.

So my point is if you are not going to see Takers On Feb 26th then you shouldn't have made a comment about it

@Raheem:

By that logic, that makes your comment equally, if not more pointless. It's not like anyone would bother to find out if they SHOT Takers as a PG-13. The studio has nothing to do with it, they change up the PG-13/R line-up on a film-by-film basis usually. Nor do those 4 rated-R films, what if he has no interest in them.

I completely agree with him, Takers would have sounded more promising and appealing with an R rating. Now it's been relegated to descriptions like "a sexual situation/partial nudity" when it could have been more of a gritty heist flick (even saying that is giving it too much credit).

@Vince:

Speaking of which, how the hell are they gonna promote that movie? T.I.'s in jail, Chris Brown is now forever seen as a woman-beater, and "Armored" looks like the same exact thing, except actually somewhat decent. Plus Takers is only coming out like a month after Armored does.

But what do I know? When has anything coming from Screen Gems been seen as a good idea?

Chill out, people. I agree with Vince. Peace.

Takers should be one of the worst of 2010. Armored looks like a potential rental, maybe. I saw the TV spots on Adult Swim, and they were decent enough.
