Kitsch as Gambit and Reynolds as Deadpool?

Wolverine is looking like a cluster fuck

Do we really need an ass load of cameos in X-Men Origins: Wolverine?

Over the past 12 hours we have learned via Ain’t It Cool News that Ryan Reynolds will have an appearance in Wolverine as Deadpool, a character with the nickname “Merc with a Mouth” described as a high-tech mercenary known for his wisecracks, black humor, and satirical pop-culture references. Apparently the Weapon X mutation cured his terminal cancer by implementing a regenerative “healing factor” extracted from Wolverine (via Wikipedia).

Next we have IESB’s report that “Friday Night Lights” star Taylor Kitsch will star as Gambit in the film, a character fans of X-Men seem to have been calling for for quite some time. Gambit has the ability to control kinetic energy, “charging” objects to the point of instability. He can turn just about anything into an explosive device and his weapon of choice is a deck of playing cards that he throws like bombs.

The only thing neither of the reports seem to know is the extent to which these characters will play a part. Perhaps it means we can expect a Gambit and Deadpool film in the future, most likely beginning with Deadpool considering Reynolds is a far more bankable star.
