I’m actually kind of glad this has become a franchise. I suppose being a fan of the Friday the 13th and Nightmare on Elm St franchise, I’m glad that our generation has that "classic" horror series to call our own. And it’s pretty fun to have a new Saw movie to see every Halloween! Enjoy it for what it is!

Yeah…I know people that swear by these films, but I’ve never been able to get in to them.

The Saw series is a decent watch. I understand what it is nothing great but there is far far worse things out there. Plus the torture devices are a evil delight

I understand what you are saying, but I don’t really think this franchise compares to those considering the Saw franchise is determined to gross you out while those you mention actually are classic.

I don’t think in 20 years we will be hearing about Saw remakes whereas we continue to hear about the return of Freddy, Jason and Michael.

I also find it hard to enjoy Saw for what it is, because all it is is gore. The story was intriguing the first time around, but after that it became about figuring out crazy ways to kill people and twists that just don’t work because they are forced. That is just my opinion of course, obviously there are fans out there.
