Jim Carrey Falls in Love with 'Phillip Morris' in New French Trailer

Too bad it is boring as sin...

Thanks to TrailersLand (via Coming Soon) we have an international French trailer for Jim Carrey's upcoming feature with Ewan McGregor I Love You Phillip Morris based on a book by Houston Chronicle crime reporter Steve McVicker in which Carrey will play Steven Russell, a married father whose conman ways introduced him to the Texas prison system. There, he falls in love with cellmate Phillip Morris (McGregor). His love for Morris motivates his escape from prisons four times, once by using a green pen and bucket of water to change his prison outfit into what appeared to be surgical scrubs, another time by faking his death from AIDS and signing his own death certificate. Morris eventually got out, but Russell's escapades got him a 144-year sentence.

As I watched the trailer below I got bored out of my mind. I stopped it just as he met Phillip Morris at two minutes and 20 seconds in and had no interest in returning. If you can make it the full three minutes and 21 seconds give yourself a pat on the back and tell me what you think in the comments. I will wait for a 30 second TV spot on this one to see if I am interested. Only I can see that has me even remotely interested is that my girl Jessica Heap is in it (no, she's not really my girl).

I watched this one @ ComingSoon earlier. And I too shut it off and I didn't even get midway I don't think. All I have to say is that I am disappointed in Jim Carrey for making a movie like this (also, I really did not need to see him graphically having sex with someone). What happened, Jim?? Why did he choose to do this? Eck. It just gives me a bad feeling watching it. Kind of like those bad feelings you get when you've watched a black comedy (and not knowing it was a black comedy. like my experience with "burn after reading").

I'm still gonna see "Yes Man" but he should just stick to the "Yes Man"'s and the "Eternal Sunshine"'s. Not any of this weird, raunchy R-rated crap. That's not him at all. It doesn't suit him. I hope in some crazy way, this doesn't get released because honestly, this will turn alot of people away from Jim Carrey.

This can't be the final trailer.

It's great that Carrey's doing an R-rated comedy, and I'm fine with "graphic" sex scenes, but goodness effing gracious! This movie looks awful! Completely tasteless, but in the stupidest way possible, so that the tastelessness isn't even a guilty pleasure. :( The construction of the plot looks to be entirely unbalanced, and everything about this trailer screams… I don't know what it screams, to tell the truth. It just screams desperately because it looks so bad.

P.S. I found this was based on a true story.

Okay, now it seems a little less tasteless, but it doesn't make the trailer any less messy.

Am I the only one who enjoyed the trailer? It looks cute, I guess. Not for everyone, though.

jim carrey and ewan mcgregor playing gay guys now i like both of them but seriously am i the only one who saw this coming but anyway this movie looks like a worthless piece of crap and another shot in jim carrey's mind to win an oscar and just worning you a lot of gay people are probabley going to be offended by this and boycott outside the theatre i say let them it will probabley stop people from seeing this as if anyone's going to jim carrey's dramatic films tend to be the ones in the back of the theatre that no one is going to see just look at the majestic

I think this movie will be Jim Carrey's biggest hit ! The trailer (although not finished) is hilarious and the story is based on real life events, which may win Carrey an Oscar! The truth is often stranger than fiction, so don't blame the messenger (Jim Carrey) if the story line seems slightly unusual. Give the final release a look and I promise it will be a HIT! Imagine what it would be like if one day you woke up GAY!!!

This movie is pure art. Jim Carrey has one again shown he is a genus. A very sensitive topic that is real to life….astronomical that a huge star will actually do something so serious and wonderful. This will be his most huge hit!!

Right, I've been looking forward to this movie ever since I heard about it, which was like a year ago.
Ewan McGregor is my favourite actor and Jim Carrey is my favourite comedy actor.
I just figured the two of them combined would be incredible.
The plot sounds rather humourous as well haha.
Plus, Jim Carrey playing an over the top stereotypical gay for a while (the whole gold belt, tight top, with "hot" guy thing) would be hysterical.
When I saw this trailer was apparently out, I couldn't believe it. I never thought I'd see anything of the film till it was actually out!

Reading the comments people have left, there's loadsa negative ones. But tbh when I was watching it I was laughing quite a lot.
Yeah parts of it are a tad stupid…
But most of it just seems to be typical Jim Carrey humour and acting.

I actually found myself shouting "nooooo noooooooo" at the computer when he was being transferred near the end haha.

But yeah, whether the film's crap or not, I'm still going to look forward to seeing it and just hope it's good.
But from the trailer I'm just guessing it's full of stupid humour.

Btw, how adorable did Ewan look when he was walking through the big crowd when we first see him? :]

Again, whether it's crap or not, I'll still love Ewan and Jim! :]
