Jet Li Negotiating Role for 'Mummy 3'

Rumors turn into fact...

Well, this is a little further along than the word we got earlier from IGN stating that Jet Li and Michelle Yeoh will be starring in The Mummy 3 as The Hollywood Reporter is saying that Jet Li is in negotiations to play the villainous title character in the third film in the franchise. As for Michelle Yeoh, there are rumors spreading that Gong Li may in fact be in line for the role earlier rumored to be Yeoh's

Details on the script are mum, but it is known that the action is set in China, with Li's story beginning in ancient times before moving to a post-World War II setting. It is also known that one sequence involves the famous terra-cotta warriors, the collection of 6,000 men and their horses that were originally constructed to protect the tomb of an emperor.

Stealth director Rob Cohen is aboard to helm.
