Jennifer Hudson has 'Sex'

This time she will at least have to act

I am one of the few people that doesn't think Jennifer Hudson deserved her Oscar, or even a nomination for that matter, for Dreamgirls. Since when does singing in a glorified music video make you an actor anyway? However, Hudson is going to have to at least sort of act in her new role in New Line's film adaptation of the popular TV series Sex and the City: The Movie.

Variety announces Hudson has joined that cast and will portray the assistant to Sarah Jessica Parker's Carrie Bradshaw. The film revolves around the lives of the four main "Sex and the City" characters, four years after the time frame of the finale of the HBO series, which wrapped its six-year run in 2004.

The film will begin shooting in New York on Sept. 19.

Before we see Hudson act in Sex we will see her opposite Kate Beckinsale, Forest Whitaker, Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce and Jackie Earle Haley in what should be an even larger test of her skills in Winged Creatures. We know the girl can sing, let's hope she can act.
