Jackman Plants ‘Wolverine’ Seed

First look deal set-up at Fox.

While this isn’t a 100 percent confirmation it is good news for X-Men fans as Hugh Jackman and John Palermo’s Seed Productions, has set-up a first-look deal at 20th Century Fox and the deal is set to go full steam ahead on the Wolverine spin-off immediately following the production of X-Men 3 with, of course, Jackman set to topline.

The deal also sets up the opportunity for Deborra-Lee Furness, Jackman’s wife, to do a little directing herself. She just wrapped production on Jindabyne, in which she stars with Gabriel Byrne and Laura Linney and made her directorial debut on the short Standing Room Only, which starred Hugh.

So, while the future of Wolverine desperately depends on whether or not Brett Ratner will rise above fan expectation and deliver a successful film in X-Men 3, it seems Jackman’s future at Fox is pretty much sealed.
