The Appaloosa poster has been floating around the Internet for the past few days, but I am finally bringing it to you now. I have no idea what to expect from this movie considering it went into production in October 2007 and basically hadn't been heard from since. It is a New Line film, but was never added to any of their film slates and suddenly it pops up for an October 3 release.

This could be a case of Warner Bros. dumping all their New Line features after rolling the company into the mother ship earlier this year, but with a cast including Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen and Renée Zellweger that just doesn't feel like it could be the case, or better yet, I don't want that to be the case.

The film is adapted from Robert B. Parker's novel of the same name, centered on a pair of friends hired to protect a lawless town suffering at the hands of a renegade rancher. The arrival of an attractive widow disrupts their plans. Harris directed the feature.
