Is This the New Jason Voorhees?

Possible casting surfaces...

Michael Bailey Smith
Online horror magazine Fangoria had words with Michael Bailey Smith, the man that starred in both of the Hills Have Eyes remakes as two different mutants, and apparently he is in the running to play Jason in the upcoming Friday the 13th origin story.

Smith tells the site, "I've heard all the rumors, and I have had talks with certain people in certain positions at Platinum Dunes... Friday the 13th starts shooting in a month or so, so I guess we'll just have to see what happens. But I can tell you that their interest in me is pretty strong. It all boils down to the way the producers ultimately want to go with Jason."

Should the casting come to fruition Smith already knows how he'll approach the character, "There would be more of the ferociousness in the character, kind of like the way I played Pluto in The Hills Have Eyes. My Jason would be a nonstop, relentless killer. I would love to bring that kind of energy and physicality to the role. It would be great to put on the mask and to be able to take on such an iconic character."

It seems weird he would have any real idea how he would approach the character considering all the guy does is kill people and the director would be the one telling him to be more ferocious or relentless. However, what do I care? I just hope they don't mess it up.
