I think a whole remake or prequel might be a bit much especially when its about explaining the ton of gaps in the original.

Maybe a directors cut or extended version or something that puts in the scenes that'll make everything clear. That is of course if those scenes exist.

Ham Solo said: I would be ok with a pre-sequel sorta thing. Give us more info about who Hancock is.. and where he's been .. balanced against perhaps a prologue of how he's finally straightened himself out.

You bring up a lot of good points and to really go into all the problems with this film would take some long drawn out discussion, but the idea behind the characters is truly unique, but as you said, they do nothing with it. This ultimately makes the origin of Hancock seem like something of a footnote, which ultimately makes him as a character almost seem worthless.

I am expecting the DVD soon so I can give it a second watch and hoping it sheds a little more light.

I'm not sure... I think y'all are trashing this film for all the wrong reasons. Perhaps you went in with the wrong expectations in mind? As for me... I liked most of what I saw. The story was a great idea but I think the writers did drop the ball but not in the same way that most do.

The premise, what Hancock turns out to be, was something new... but they went nowhere with it. What was that all about? Why give us that info and never go into it... just leaving the audience with tons of questions and frustration?

Probably the biggest mistake made was the preview trailer. It gave a totally wrong idea of what the film was going to be about. I believe had they not tried to be so cheeky about the twist and given a more honest representative taste of the film in the trailer it wouldn't have annoyed so many.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I saw this dissapointment of a film. I think in a few years, this should be remade and it should be an R rated film with no stupid twist. It could've been so good. It really pisses me off that this movie sucked!
