Is ‘Firefly’ Coming to Blu-ray?

This would make a lot of people happy

I loved Serenity and was quite upset it didn’t do better at the box-office, yet I still have not seen a single episode of “Firefly”, the cancelled television series that ultimately spawned the feature film.

There have been rumors of a Serenity 2 as the first film continues to perform well on DVD, but as of now there is no official word. However, Browncoats may be able to rejoice very soon, at least those that own a Blu-ray player. It appears Amazon has added “Firefly - The Complete Series” to their site as a Blu-ray Disc release. There is no release date, and to my knowledge “Prison Break” is the only Fox television title title to be released on the high-definition format, but as it appears the format war is coming to an end perhaps studios will be more encouraged to release more titles on Blu-ray as it appears to be the winning format.

As of right now this is simply speculation, but it appears I may have to finally watch the series that spawned a film I love, and in high-definition no less.

You can find the Amazon page right here.
