'Inglorious Bastards' Casting Continues Strange Trend of Names
I have no idea what to expect from this film...

I have the script for Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards (like everyone else at this point), but I have not had a chance to read it, which may be the reason I continue to be baffled by the names being added to the cast. Of course the Eli Roth casting is a definite head scratcher seeing how I look at that bit of casting as more of a "toss your friend a bone" kind of deal, something I understand with Michael Madsen since Madsen is a bad ass, but Eli Roth?
B.J. Novak I know nothing about so I have no comments and the Brad Pitt casting seems just fine. Pitt is an underated actor that never gets proper credit for actually being a great actor due to the fact he was always pegged as the pretty face. However, after films such as 12 Monkey, Seven, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford and Snatch I would think it would be hard not to call Pitt a great actor.
The Leonardo DiCaprio rumors appear to have been false, but today the Hollywood Reporter offers up three more names by way of Simon Pegg (Hot Fuzz), David Krumholtz (Serenity) and German actress Nastassja Kinski (Inland Empire). Just what is Tarantino cooking up here?
Pegg would play a British lieutenant. Krumholtz's part would be that of a member of Pitt's team. Kinski is meeting with Tarantino for the part of a German actress. Apparently Pegg is in negotiations and is likely to sign, Krumholtz has an offer but may have a scheduling conflict and Kinski is in discussions.
This is a film that at one time included rumored casting such as Adam Sandler, Eddie Murphy, Paul Walker and Arnold Schwarzenegger. I have no idea what is up his sleeve, but once casting is complete I think I will finally crack those script pages open and see how it all works out.
