In My Opinion: Ranking Pixar's First Ten Films
It only seems appropriate...
| The Incredibles (2004) |
| This is an odd one for me. When I first reviewed it back in 2004 I gave it a C+ and was then able to enjoy it a little more when Disney released it on DVD. However, every time I watch it I can't help but get slightly bored with the film until the third act arrives and we finally get a payoff for the first 90 minutes. The ending of The Incredibles is fantastic, but the nearly two hour running time hurts it in my eyes. | |
| Cars (2006) |
| Cars is one of Pixar's films that seems to have the worst rep in the eyes of most critics, but I can't help but enjoy this film every time I watch it. There are plenty of laughs and it may be the only time I have ever enjoyed Larry the Cable Guy in anything. Watching it again just before putting this list together sealed the deal and I think the sixth spot is a perfect place for it as we head into my top five. | |
| Up (2009) |
| I enjoyed Up in theaters but I have a feeling it is a film that will either grow on me more over time or perhaps much less. This isn't to say it will become a lesser film as much as I am not sure it is one I will want to return to. It is definitely a beautiful film and expertly told, but its lasting appeal is yet to be known. | |
