I Know Sam Jackson Will Do Anything, But Damn

Money is good, but so is knowing when to say, "No"

Samuel L. Jackson

Everyone has looked at a casting decision Samuel L. Jackson has made and asked themselves, “Why did he do that?”

Now, I am not necessarily talking about Snakes on a Plane, because let’s face it, if you are an individual with any sense of adventure or desire to have fun and you are approached with a movie called Snakes on a Plane you just might have to do it. Seriously, how many cool points would Julia Roberts earn if she had starred alongside Sam in that film rather than Julianna Margulies? Yeah, it would have been pretty cool.

On the other hand, there are movies like The Man and we are left scratching our heads and this latest decision has me doing that as well. Variety is reporting that Jackson is set to star in Man That Rocks the Cradle for New Line Cinema, the same folks that distributed… yup… The Man.

The premise is that Jackson will play the nanny, Marion Delacroix, a reputed “kid whisperer” from the South. He will be working for an overworked husband and father of four who decides the solution to all his problems is a live-in nanny.

The pic is based on a story by Josh Cagan and Rob McKittrick. Cagan presented the spec script to New Line. No word on a director.

Pushing this one aside, we can look forward to seeing Sam in much better sounding features such as Lakeview Terrace, The Spirit and Iron Man.
