Hoffman is One of the 'Savages'

Oscar-winner joins Linney

They sure don't wait long to take advantage of a good thing as Philip Seymour Hoffman's first post-Oscar project is announced. Variety is reporting today that the actor will be joining Laura Linney in the Fox Searchlight drama The Savages.

The film was written and will be directed by Tamara Jenkins and centers on Hoffman and Linney as siblings forced to care for their ailing and estranged elderly father.

Production gets under way in Gotham in April.

While The Savages may be the next film Hoffman will work on it will not be the next film he will be seen in as he plays the baddie in the upcoming Mission: Impossible III and it just so happens that Moviefone just debuted the Japanese trailer right here.
