Hopefully, given the pool of people to draw from, it can be both. But not so far. I personally loved Jon Stewart as host. (Can anyone forget him bringing Markéta Irglová back on stage to give her acceptance speech?) But when the ratings dropped, he got shit canned. This despite the fact that the fault was the production numbers, IMO. Now it seems they've upped the production numbers, at the expense of the nominees, and brought in the kids to present. Ever sense The Dark Knight was subbed the academy is trying to do damage control.
