Early Sat. estimates: UP 13.4mil, The Hangover 12.9mil. Roughly 1mil give or take a few 100k will separate both going into Sun. Another nail-biter here for no.1. Bottom line though is both are sailing hella strong. Both will finish somewhere around 31-34mil.

I think it is so sad that movies like Moon or Away We Go are not the publicity they deserve.

Hangover will win..The word of mouth is AMAZING for this pic..The fact that its turning into the comedy of the summer should prove that..And Eddie Murphy DON'T DO ANOTHER STUPID KIDDIE FLICK!Numbers prove it..

The Hangover will rise on Sat, but so will Up and I think the Up rise will cover that 1.8mil lead. Family films experience the highest Sat rises, and with Imagine That barely making a dent at the box office, I expect both Hangover and UP to be virtually tied by Sat's end. It all comes down to Sunday.

"Hangover" wins again. Here's why:

Last weekend was Hangover's opening weekend. It would have made sense, with its 10% Saturday drop, for it to place 2nd, even though it was ahead $3 million. However, now it's in 2nd weekend, so it'll be seeing a Saturday rise, not a Saturday drop, and that means it needs a smaller Friday lead to beat "Up." $1.8 lead is more than enough.

"The proposal" will exceed $ 20 million the next weekend?
I am very interested to know, I love romantic comedies, and this sounds good.

Based on the Fri to Fri percentage drops of 37% for Hangover and 32% for UP, should those percentages remain constant the rest of the weekend, UP will edge Hangover to no.1. It's gonna be another close finish that might not be determined until the actuals on Monday. I'm just glad to see these 2 good movies being generously rewarded by the moviegoing public.

I think UP will have the difference covered by the end of Sat. Last week, Hangover had a 3mil lead and UP pretty much made it up after Sat. It took an unprecedented hold for an R-Rated comedy on Sunday for it to lose, and it lost out by a mere 800k. Now, it only has a 1.5mil deficit after Fri, and "Imagine That" is not hurting it at all. A huge chunk of the B.O. from family films like UP come from Sat and Sun, especially the matinees. (And nowadays, matinees are upwards of 8-10 bucks anyway, and not to mention the 3D surcharge).

I think what will happen is that UP will edge ahead on Sat night based on the Saturday grosses, and it will all come down to the Sunday grosses. Either way, both films will finish in the 30-32mil range, so both studios will be celebrating no matter what.

Hangover will win. I don't think Up could make up to claim first in its 3rd week around. Pelham will stay at 3rd. I was impressed with Night At The Museum 2 though. People actually chose to watch it that Eddie Murphy. Amy Adams makes me forget that this was an unnecessary sequel.

As for the last 4. No harm done, i just hope A&D and DMtH would trade places so that i'll end up dead on at the Box office Mojo Derby

The Hangover might win.
I think family outings tend to be the earlier, cheaper showings while movies like The Hangover might make more of it's money from night showings. This weekend might be another photo-finish for first and second.
