'Hangover' Hangs On To Friday #1 In Another Tight Weekend Box-Office Race
Can 'Up' make up $1.6 million? I think so...

Here we are again folks, The Hangover took the Friday box-office crown with an estimated $10.4 million with Up hot on its heels with $8.8 million. Last week Hangover carried a $3 million lead into Saturday over Up and was able to hold on to that lead despite early Sunday estimates showing Up as the weekend winner.
The question now is whether or not the film can hold on to a $1.6 million lead the same way it did a $3 million lead. My prediction says no, I think Up will have enough animated weekend steam to catapult to the top. But that's just me and I know very little about these things.
As for this week's new releases we find the first one in the #3 slot after Friday estimates with Tony Scott's The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 sitting in third position with $8.2 million, which I would guess will give it something close to a $24-26 million weekend.
After that is Eddie Murphy's Imagine That, which suffered from bad reviews and competition with Up to only earn $1.8 million on Friday and in all likelihood something of a $6-8 million weekend.
Unfortunately there aren't any numbers for Moon, Tetro or Away We Go. It isn't as if they were in a lot of theaters so I don't see why we can't get estimates. I'm hoping folks that could get out to see these films did. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of Moon, I still think it's a film, if given a chance, people would want to go see. Same goes for Tetro and Away We Go, two films I certainly recommend you go see.
So that does it. The complete list of Friday box-office estimates can be found directly below and Laremy will be here tomorrow with complete results. But for now, you tell me, do you think Up will make up its $1.6 million deficit or does Hangover win another one?
